I am inspired by real-life successes in wildlife rehabilitation and ecosystem regeneration. I write fiction and non-fiction books for children that feature animal rescues, rainforests, and urban wildlife. 

 

During the day, I am an elementary school educator.  Helping kids discover books they love is one of my favorite things to do. If I get them hooked on a series, even better! As an author, I write to inspire young readers to care for our planet and for each other.

When I am not at school teaching, or at home researching a new story, you’ll find me at the beach, on a mountain, or in the rainforest. I am originally from Takoma Park, Maryland and have lived in Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica, and currently reside in New York City. I am represented by Joyce Sweeney at The Seymour Agency.
